Support the Minnesota Community in Washington, DC

The Minnesota State Society of Washington, DC (MNSS) welcomes partnerships with organizations that share our goal of building community and celebrating Minnesota connections in the nation’s capital.

Through social gatherings, cultural events, and civic programming, the Society brings together Minnesotans living and working throughout the Washington, DC region. Our events provide opportunities for networking, friendship, and celebrating the traditions and identity of the State of Minnesota.

Organizations can support these activities through financial or in-kind sponsorship.

About the Minnesota State Society

The Minnesota State Society is dedicated to:

MNSS is a member of the National Conference of State Societies (NCSS) and operates as a tax-exempt social welfare organization under IRS section 501(c)(4).

Sponsorship Opportunities

We welcome both financial sponsorship and in-kind support from organizations interested in connecting with the Minnesota community in Washington.

Premier Sponsorship

“You Betcha” Sponsorship – $10,000

Premier sponsors receive recognition throughout the year and at all Society events. Opportunities may include:

  • Recognition as a major supporter of the Minnesota State Society

  • Sponsorship visibility at multiple MNSS events

  • Participation as a founding sponsor of signature events such as the MN Hotdish Cook-Off

  • Optional exclusive sponsorship opportunities (such as Cherry Blossom programming)

Event Sponsorship

Event sponsors support one or more MNSS gatherings and receive recognition associated with those events.

Examples of sponsored programming include:

  • Minnesota sports outings in DC

  • Happy hours and social gatherings

  • Intern networking events

  • Minnesota-themed celebrations

  • Congressional or policy gatherings

In-Kind Sponsorship

The Society also welcomes in-kind contributions that help support events and fundraising activities.

Examples include:

  • Products from Minnesota-based companies

  • Branded merchandise from Minnesota businesses, universities, or sports teams

  • Event space in the Washington, DC area

Example Events and Programming

The State Society hosts a variety of gatherings throughout the year. Examples of past and planned events include:

  • Twins games and other Minnesota sports outings

  • Minnesota-themed happy hours and social events

  • Participation in the Cherry Blossom Festival

  • Congressional or policy gatherings

  • The Minnesota Hotdish Cook-Off

  • Seasonal gatherings and community dinners
