Calling all Minnesotans and Midwesterners!
The Minnesota State Society is helping spread the word about a special evening with John U. Bacon, award-winning journalist and author of The Gales of November: The Untold Story of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
Join John on Monday, November 23, at 7:00 PM ET at Barnes & Noble in Georgetown for an author talk and book signing about one of the Great Lakes' most haunting and enduring stories.
The sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald on Lake Superior in November 1975 remains one of the most memorable tragedies in Great Lakes history. With 29 crew members lost, the story has lived on through generations—and, of course, Gordon Lightfoot's unforgettable ballad, The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

And here's an idea...
If we get a good crowd of Midwesterners registered to attend, perhaps we can turn the evening into a friendly Midwest meetup afterward at a nearby watering hole! A little Great Lakes camaraderie, good conversation, and maybe a few stories about home.
If you're interested, be sure to register and let your fellow Midwesterners know you're coming. Let's see how many of us we can bring together!
